I walked away from war, or so it seemed
Down a tunnel cut from fear and time
Where silence breathed heavier than guns

I thought I had escaped the battle
But war followed me into the dark
Into a strange meeting of souls

We stood as shadows without ranks
No nations, no flags, no lies
Only truth staring back at truth

He was the enemy I once aimed at
Now just a man, broken like me
Blood washed away our borders

His eyes carried the pity of war
Dreams killed before they learned to live
Progress buried under courage and orders

This strange meeting spoke without anger
Of wisdom lost and futures burned
Of suffering shared by all sides

We were brothers too late in death
Forgiveness whispered through wounds
Human connection born in silence

War promised glory and gave us graves
Beauty wept where hope should stand
And fear ruled the hearts of men

I left knowing nothing was won
Only lessons written in loss
And one last strange meeting to remember
